: I'm actually quite good (in MY mind) at rationalizing what I see and make it
: fit the Haloverse. There are some recent developments that are making that
: really hard to do. But as to less obvious gameplay that doesn't seem to
: fit, could you give some examples? I'd like to see if I've already
: reconciled them in my head (or docs).
Ahhh, crap. I was really hoping you wouldn't ask for examples because nothing obvious came to mind after I posted and thought gameplay, lol!
I was trying to get away with a blanket statement.
Er, damn... hmm... I guess one would be why a scoped view (which is presumably a projection on the HMD with the integration between armours and weapons) zooms out when anything hits you.
Though that does seem quite possible to reconcile as a safety feature to instantly increase situational awareness rather than have any kind of manual delay (though in the game, its obviously to make things difficult for the player trying to snipe).
Though why the motion sensor vanishes whenever you do, that's more tricky, heh.
: I enjoy these discussions by the way, Bry. You provide a good sounding board
: for alternate interpretations of Halo fact and canon. I love these
: discussions we have. Just so you know I'm not picking on you in case I
: ever came across like that. I have actually written stuff here and said to
: myself, 'I can't wait to see what Bry thinks of this'. True story.
Awww, I'm embarrassed now (well, more so).
I can assure you that I never intend to pick on you either, I just consider you a guaranteed bet for a thoughtful and polite discussion on just about anything Halo.
For the past year and a bit, I've just tried to adopt a very hands-off approach to a lot of Halo lore, trying not to get too attatched to certain ideas, lest they be taken away or conflicted, so I try to be very open to many possibilities and give them a good thought, even when they seem unlikely or they don't sit well with me.
...With one or two notable exceptions, aheh... Especially when it comes to terms describing a means of displaying symbology to a person via some kind of mounting on a helmet...
*ahem*
