Well, Frankie, as much as I like Halo, as much as I like the backstory to Halo, and as much as I like GitS/GitS:SAC/GitS:SAC:2nd GIG, I have only one positive thing to say about this episode...
It was actually better than Babysitter.

Art Style: Yes, I understand that der Sangheilios is tropical and humid. That being said, however, the attempt to render this in harsh background colors and yellow tints failed, because it made the action harder to follow. Perhaps a more subtle color palette could have worked better, but it could hardly have turned out worse.

Furthermore in the art department, we have the continuation of the overdose of Japanimation tropes, from the samurai Sangheili to the sehr Japanese style of architecture. I know that the Elites come from a very warrior- and honor-oriented society, but the extent to which this is translated into Japanese culture in Legends is far beyond the pale. Notably, Japanese stylization is absent from the games and from the novels. While some Nippon influence is likely to creep in, it's not, and it shouldn't be, too much to ask the animators and artists to come up with something a little more alien. It's not going to kill them. It's not going to kill sympathy for the Arbiter, as it didn't drive people away from playing him in Halo 2.

Third objection to the art: The female Elite.
Yes, almost everything has been said that must be said. There has been a lot of speculation as to what they look like (including some very, very (VERY VERY!) disturbing pictures at Deviantart.
Overall, I must say that I'm disappointed that IG resorted to the boob job and hair to make her look female. Omitting the hair and the breasts, the smoother skin and smaller frame (Maybe wider hips?) would have been enough to set ihr apart from the males.

As for making the fans feel sorry that she died? Characterization, characterization, characterization. Dialogue, and actions.

Finally, several smaller points that should have been corrected with decent editing.

-Einen Uber-Jager ist todt... but what about the other two Hunters? Were they taken out by the invisible army that the Arbiter was training in the first half of the movie? And was there really any reason to have the Arbiter kill an army of a hundred without incurring a single scratch?

-I know the circle-while-watching-your-challenger-for-thirty-seconds and the blood geyser are anime tropes, and these are anime studios, but one can't help but feel that they are:
A: Over the top, and not in a good way.
B: Sacrifices precious time in a thirty minute episode that can be better used on "Characterization, characterization, characterization."

-Seriously, what is with the applied Handwavium metal swords that can block energy blades? Isn't the primary advantage (And the only reason such weapons would work against people armed with assault rifles) of the energy sword that it passes THROUGH flesh and matter, burning as it goes along?

Oh, well, I'd believe that...
If IG wasn't the same studio that made us come to tears over the selfless sacrifice of large, mechanical, three-eyed jumping spiders.

Like the immobile mandibles, it seems to fall more towards lazy animation and rushed deadlines. If they'd been willing to spend more time on it (and cut some time from the confusing battles) they could have pulled it off without hair and the boob job.

In short, try to have a little more respect for your fans. They are actually somewhat smart, and don't need stuff watered down... :(
