Why if everyone carried a pair of magnums, : an AR, a fusion rifle and a Dangi maser, crooks would think twice about : mugging us ;-) actualy if somebody try's to mug you and you draw a gun, you double your chance of getting killed : Seriously, the U.S. constitution hasn't required a rewrite precisely because : it is one of the most brilliantly written political documents of all : time, drawing on the best of what preceeded it in the Greek, Roman and : Brittish empires. Yes, it contains a lot of compromises, but this is why : it has been so successful. There are a lot of flaws, however, and the : process for redressing these has been made so onerous that some thing will : probably never be corrected - among these the second ammendment that the : NRA loves so much, the lack of legislative representation from the : District of Columbia (legitimately considered a racial issue), and the : tremendous political disparity that gives a small state like Rhode Island : a disproportionate share of power in Congress and in the Electoral : College, making the election of a minority president like W possible ;-) well, you seem to have proven my point in the seceond section:) : Let's not stretch or distort the tru7h, but let's not exaggerate it either, : which is what the Bush administration is doing. There's plenty of evidence : that Irak has been geering up for war for years. Terrorism is war, and : Saddam is one of it's biggest supporters - he pays the families of : Palestinian suicide bombers money - and that's merely symbolic - he spends : far more on the development of weapons of mass destruction and of mass : terror. ya ok, going back to Yossarians comment about Irak, about to attack a small contry. its not the U.S.'s job to bash Irak because it might attack its neibor. its a UN decision (it might be controled by the U.S. but its still not the same thing) and if they decided to do something, it would it would be to send in some blue helmets (casque bleu) to the soon to be attacked contry. : However, Americans need to look closer to home when it comes to the support : of terror. We import more than half our oil from the Middle East. Much of : that oil money is funneled into terrorist organizations rather than being : used constructively for such things as building a prosperous palestinian : state that could live peacefully with Israel. And then there are the : environmental issues - can you believe the Bush administration on this one : - yes, global warming is real, so we're just going to have to learn to : live with it??? I've thought about making a custom bumper sticker for my : car - "Support terrorism - Drive an SUV" - but I'm afraid of an : NRA member bashing my windows in ;-) ...i would do it... no NRA in canada have fun! -Tru7h -and no flaming
