	In Response To: Re: Rubicon Volunteers - Science Stands Alone (Ben A. Potter) Not to put religion and God down, but there is damn little in Evolution that cannot be considered fact. We have witnessed evolution in action with lower life forms over a matter of months or years - sometimes even days. The underlying principles have been proven with as much certainty as many things that we take for granted (eg. the germ theory). The evidence for the evolution of higher life forms from lower forms is overwhelming. Yes, there are a number of unanswered questions, but these are more involved with the how of evolution than the what (as for example the theory of gravitation vs. the fact that it exists). This is not to say that there couldn't have been a supreme entity that created and oversees the physical laws that led to our existence, but the science of evolution stands alone. Creationism does not involve science, scientific evidence nor the scientific method. It is a repudiation of science that implies that God pulled off the greatest hoax against mankind ever imaginable. I'm personally neutral on the existence of God (not quite agnostic, though), but if he does exist, he doesn't operate by deceipt. I'd rather be an atheist than believe that he would.
