There's no fundamental problem with the US constitution; the only problems arise from extreme interpretations. As for making it more specific, that is exactly what the amendments do: guarantee specific rights of citizens and set forth specific boundaries. And I really don't think he needs to worry about staying in power; he's guaranteed three and a half more years as far as presidential powers go, and he doesn't have any other influence of which to speak.
