In Response To: Re: My bad (Steve Levinson) Hmm...and everyone's forgotten that I wasn't even talking about Creation v. Evolution. =) I don't mind at all having no supporters. I had already alienated both camps by saying they were both being ridiculous, but it appears that only the Evolutionists took the chance of an easy ambush. Believe me, Creationists I know would be just as angry for my words, if not more so. In fact, as soon as I *do* have many supporters, my theory will be proved incorrect, because it hinges on the fact that people use "objective" means to prove to themselves and to others their own fundamental beliefs, which are held pre-knowledge. I don't want to try to prove C v. E at all: that's just a bunch of stupid bickering between two types of fundamentalists. Read Elmer Gantry. Then read Animal Farm. The best argument against Christianity/atheism (or any other ideology: I just pick on Christianity because it's convenient) is, "I don't want to believe it." The best argument to "prove" (what a subtle word that is) the existence of God/Evolution (The biggest ideology is the creation ideology) is, "I want to believe it." All "proofs" for any argument, while they may be valid evidences pro or con, are inconsequential: nobody was ever argued into an ideology. Evidence is empty. "Truth" is created and changeable. Search yourselves: why did you first believe what you believe. When did you know that your belief was "true": pre- or post-conversion? "But," you say, "why are you arguing your point if you say your arguments are inconsequential?" Because I like to be a gadfly. Dunno any other reason. And everyone who posted about how great Evolution is (and I'm not saying that their evidence was bad or false: They could be right!!! I have never said Evolution was false) jumped into my trap. I chose my words about C v. E very carefully in my first post. And I don't expect anybody to change the way they think because of my arguments. ("Tell that to the jury!") ;) I stand alone. Ok by me. =) Cletuum now get playing games or something! >=( |
