: I guess I don't know the answer to that. When you make a game to accommodate the lesser skilled players, more lesser skilled players play. And when you have a a large group of lesser skilled players, you have a larger group of good players to wail on them. Why? Because it's simply more fun. Also, to a lesser extent, sigma decrease in the TruSkill system which leads to a perceived rank lock. I know I enjoy going 53-0 against new players with AR starts on Valhalla.
