(Eiii) : Blindly buying a game throws money to the developer regardless of whether or : not the game is really worth buying :( The huge number of preorders games : nowadays are a reflection of the amount of money put into advertising : campaigns and hype overall instead of the actual quality of the game. : So instead of preordering the game like a moron because commercial X Y Z made : the game look SO GOOD and all the 'review sites' with early access gave it : glowing reviews and there's been a slow buildup for months, how about you : wait until the game is released, see what people who aren't paid money to : make you buy the game really think, and punish developers for making a bad : game, or reward them for making a good one? No one gets paid to make me buy a game. They get paid to entice me to buy a game. I still say blinding buying games isn't killing the game industry. It might have a negative impact on the quality of the games made, but that won't kill the game industry. There will always be someone out there who will say, "this game is good in theory, but it actually sucks balls. I bet my company could do it better." It's kind of like a heartbeat. You know what really does kill the game industry? Lay offs, downsizing, corporate bullshit to "cut losses" and put the guys who make games out of work. You don't buy games, people get put out of work, and there are less people around to make games. Doesn't just happen to the developers of shovelware, it happens to developers that make real games too.
