Plus, reducing damage makes no sense anyway! : The benefit of : dual wielding is supposed to be about getting functionality from two : weapons instead of just doubling your firepower Take any combo that : features a plasma and a ballistic weapon, and how you get the shield : removing properties and armor penetrating properties; the end result is a : target that dies fast. Now combine two plasma or two ballastic weapons, : and your target doesn't die as quickly. This is a tangible benefit I agree. But I believe it'd still be cool to extend it to the entire weapon set. As is, (in Halo 3) you have to learn what weapons are dual weildable and what aren't. You can pick up two plasma rifles, but can't pick up two ARs, even though they are similar sizes, and have similar grips etc. Plus you CAN dual weild the SMG which has HUGE kickback, but a weapon like the BR can't be dualweilded even though it appears to have relatively minimal (or entirely controllable) kickback. The dividing line between "dual-weildable" and "non dualweildable" is rather arbitrary is what I'm saying. Since you can balance a laser on your shoulder and fire with one hand (see: Elites) for example. Plus it'd just be badass to have two lasers :) Aside: first demo of dual-weilding was dual SMGS on grunts so, the 'view' of dual-wielding isn't just limited to ballistc+plasma advantage vs elites/brutes/spartans
