: If the Gravemind can tap into the teleportation grid on Halo, could a flood : parasite form infect and take control of a robot, like a sentinal? The Flood on a fundamental level needs sentience, or at least a sufficient bio-mass. A sentinal is probably less AI and more gun + Targeting system. If there was enough biomass to support the Flood control functions, then they could interface, like a combat form and very complicated trigger finger. That appeared to happen in Last Voyage of the Infinite Succor, where some combat forms had multiple guns assimilated in each blobby limb. Hacking could certainly take place on the higher AIs. Reprogramming, ETC. Cortana and 2401 were proof of that. Gravemind could probably "read their thoughts" as easily as Tank (or others) read the scrolling code in The Matrix, and he may have been able to alter that code too.
