Re: Can Flood Infect Machines?
Posted By: InnerRaygDate: 5/3/08 6:19 p.m.

: I don't think an infection form could, they seem to be a one-job organism(to
: me at least), Their only purpose is to infect creatures with nervous
: systems (taking control of nerve cells and such) and make them into combat
: forms.

: A gravemind might be able to manipulate the sentinel's machinery, like he
: does with high charity (Or is that just combat/pure forms using inherited
: knowledge to operate the controls?), although that really isn't
: 'infecting' it, just 'using' it.

: And anyway, I'd think the Forerunners would not have made the machines whose
: purpose was to stop any flood outbreaks vulnerable to flood control.
: (Although they have made some weird decisions in the past, i.e. keeping
: flood on the rings!)
The idea was the Flood spores kept in stasis would be studied and a cure found for them

In any case, no, I highly doubt Flood can control computer systems or robots as they do organic beings-they can access the circuitry and control it, but that's about it. That's exactly why you use robots to fight them in the first place.
