: If the Gravemind can tap into the teleportation grid on Halo, could a flood : parasite form infect and take control of a robot, like a sentinal? We know that the Flood can consciously control the Flood Super Cells. From the Beastarium: Flood biomass is composed of an undeferentiatedcelltypethathasbeenlabelled[marker[?]] >LF.X.x3273_Flood_Super_Cell. The Flood Super Cell (FSC) can be loosely described as [thinking muscle[?]], and it closely resembles neurons or glial cells in structure. It has been veified on numerous occassions that the Flood have the ability to arrange these FSCs to mimic any organ they might need. It might be possible to make an infection form that could infiltrate the Sentinel's casing, cut wires, and take control of the machine. We don't know how Forerunner tech works but we already have people looking at interfacing neurons with chips. It may be possible for individual cells to interact with very small electronics. Anybody who owned the Halo IP could do a bit of arm waving and make a convincing case that Flood could interface very well with machinary. I don't even see any reason why you couldn't have biological lasers to interact with optical systems. I'm thinking of some sort of OLED laser. Even if the Flood didn't start out with these capabilities, I imagine that a GM with access to a genetics lab could improve the FSCs to turn them into a veritable Swiss Army Knife Cell. Spintronics? Memristors? No problem. The Forerunners had experience in artificial cells. (Huragok) The Flood have been loose in Forerunner research facilities...
