: A computer virus is still considered an infection, is it not? :) Well, on the same token, I think of this in much the same way as High Charity and the Covenant Cruiser in Halo 3. Both were taken over and piloted by flood, presumably due to Gravemind's control. I think that perhaps organic organisms are perceived as at an insufferable risk because they can be directly infected by ANY flood form, whereas an AI technology has it's own weapon arsenal, and would take some high quality infecting to take control of. I dunno, it's worth exploring.
