I hate to take anything out of context... but in response to this one point

It was obviously fan fiction from the start, the meta tags in the html code, which were posted many times on the forum, contained the words "Fan Fiction." It was Fan Fiction, the questions lay in that gray area where we did not know how much "insider" information this fan had. I thought is was the Halo Story page guys, I was fooled, but my enjoyment was still for real.

You know, I can argue til the goats come home, but I realize I have a conflict of interest here. Before even looking at the facts, I'm going to support Louis and the crew here at HBO because I like and respect them. So obviously, it is not fair of me to take sides here.

But on the other hand, Rams, you too have a conflict of interest. You run your own Halo fan site. Don't you have a responsibility too, for validating information you present to the fans? Would it not have been just as easy for you to email Bungie and Louis (since the stories were hosted on Bungie.org) and ask for some clarification?

It's hard to tell where you are coming from, sometimes your complaints read like the envious middle sibling. You're not the oldest so you don't get all the freedom and responsibility, but you're not the youngest so you don't get all the attention.

Can you remove yourself for a moment from this conflict of interest and just look at the fans that participated in the whole thing? There is a whole generation of fans that just experienced something close to the original Cortana Letters. This was an experience that you can't buy, you can't learn, you can only feel it.

These are some of the things that make the Bungie community come together and stand out.
