A website has recently reported, then retracted a story claiming that Microsoft would charge for Halo 2 clan support. Not only was the story nonsense, but the subsequent retraction and admission of falsehood was beneath contempt, blaming, in effect, reader gullibility for its own deception..."

I shouldn't post this! We all should let this thread die.(why am I doing this? am I a masochist?) But....
I know the deception (if you want to call it that) was on a different level (passive vs. active), the excuses (some) seem a little the same (compare Frankie's news item to a quote of Wu's post.)The terminals came at a time when Halo 2 anticipation was (or is) at a fevered pitch! I myself was (am) just new to the community... just read the Cortana letters for the first time a week or two before too. I was hoping to be on the ground floor of the Halo2 intrigue.
But lesson learned! "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me."
So the next one is on me!

Granted I should have noticed the tell-tale signs- Wu not posting about it for one sign... (if it WAS from Bungie he wouldn't know everything going on, and he would be tearing into it like everyone else.) So we share the blame- the writer, Wu, and the readers! In conclusion I'd say that I did feel a little decieved, and yes I helped too by letting myself be decieved, but there is enough blame to go around!

Now we can forget about the whole thing, let the gnomes carry these posts away.
Soon Halo2 will come, we will spawn, get killed, and spawn again!
