In Response To: Re: Enkidu flames and kudos HERE, please. (Tarrsk) : Wrong. (And incidentally, terrible analogy, as well) You are making unfounded
Lets see. First of all I did check the site out and saw how it was presented. Then I read many a Fan post who thought like you that it was real. After all am I wrong? Isn't it exactly what I said it was lol? And as for the analogy the War would the the story it self and the Fan posts would be the press. They tell me about the war even though I have never been over there and experienced it. Many of them probably haven't been there either but have read stories from other sources and commented on them. This happens all the time in legitimate journalism. Lets say I read it and didn't believe it. Would that mean no one did? Not really. Would that mean it wasn't plausible that it was real? Nope. I know as much about it as I need to for my stance. : Regarding your President analogy: we judge the President based on his words
LOL. How many articles are written about the President that aren't about something he said or that we saw on TV? I've read plenty about something he did that neither I or the writer witnessed. This is no difference. Once again am I wrong about what Enkidu is? No. It's not that hard to know what it is without spending my time reading it. And really my argument lies in the reader reaction and it's presentation not in it's content per say. People believed it was real, no one said it wasn't, Louis news post on it left open the possibility, etc.. : (Incidentally, I both oppose the war and will be voting for Kerry. But I
As will I for the same reasons. But not everything you read comes straight from the source most is from reporters who have witnessed it themselves. You and many others here have read the story. I've read enough posts here to know what I need to of the story line. There is this thing called common sense that tells me that if you all say about the same thing regarding the facts it's true enough for me. : Reaction dictates cause, eh? Faulty reasoning there- just because we, the
Reaction proves that it worked, the cause was not stating what it really was. As I've said before the situation was very plausible and they knew it. : In any case, my position remains thus: who cares if it was implied that
Well I care, and someone others I've talked to care. Just becuase you don't doesn't mean no one does or vise versa. : In this case, the presentation and the story are intimately linked. You
Again your just backing up my point that it was intentionally misleading. : Also, the fact that the reaction here at HBO has been overwhelmingly positive
Yes the reaction here has been positive but that doesn't make the situation right. And it doesn't mean that some where upset as I've talked to several.
