And if AIs do come around, I doubt : they'll ever be as overtly sexual as Cortana looks. If you want to start : saying that Bungie is only keeping in tune with what the military is like : then be my guest, but I think you're making excuses. There's absolutely no : reason to keep the female marines like that. Bungie may have been influenced by the modern military but not consciously considered how gender roles might (or should) change in the future. I doubt that Bungie did it intentionally for the sake of realism, but rather because they are alive and creating in this day and age, and it rubs off.
