In Response To: I don't really have any more to say except... (DanteThePoet) : Dude, wtf? A rape fantasy motif? She's nothing like the typical damsel in : distress, except for the one scene you mention. She is a officer in the : military, apparently an amazing pilot, and she can hold her own in a fire : fight, as was demonstrated by the rest of her appearances in the game. She : is very much in control of the situations she is shown in and not at all : indecisive or weak. : You example reminds me of something a good friend of mine explained to me
However, it isn't and we don't. The current things that femininity is associated with stands, no matter what the opinions of the people in this thread. The problem is femininity speaks nothing of gender, because a feminine trait can be found in a man and a masculine trait can be found in a woman. Saying that weakness(physical or emotional) is a feminine trait has NOTHING to do with whether an actual female is weak. It is therefore useless to argue this point by saying "I'm strong and can trade punches with men" because you are only arguing about yourself and/or other females, your argument has no basis on the trait being feminine or not.
