I think getting Fillion for the character was a poor choice. I hate myself for saying it, because I've followed most of his stuff (Including Dr. Horrible - Awesome) but he was written as a caring guy, as he is portrayed in the major TV shows he's been in. His past characters are definitely not ODSTs, and they didn't channel enough pissed-off Mal to make a veteran realistic. Dare just had the ONI label slapped onto her armour. I think they got caught up in trying to make her likeable, and missed the point of Noir female characters. They're meant to keep the audience guessing about their motivations and whether or not they're going to kick the lead character in the nuts. And General Vagueness - no harm done. I'm just up for having a fun discussion. And I think I was the guy complaining about the words :P Attack my ideas, I can take it - as long as it's a logical argument!
