In Response To: Re: Oh yeah... (elessar787) : My personal opinion is that the entire process should be a bit more : transparent and the community should be kept up to date on what announced : features are still to be in the game and which are due to be scrapped. i'm going to have to disagree with you there. when features are visibly cut, we fans often feel screwed out of something we were looking forward to. its a sad part of the human condition that renders us more likely to notice loss than gain: we mourn the absence of a custom games browser, but never really realize what new features took its place on our video game smorgasbord. remember when halo 2 was announced, bungie threw up an FAQ about the game, listing things we could expect in the game? a moon base, melee combos, sprinting, the mongoose, and a slew of other awesome-sounding things were on there. when it was revealed that none of those would be in the game, lots of people were disappointed. that was an example of this transparency you desire, and it really didn't get us (the fans) anywhere. we were just kind of sad that we didn't get to experience those things in the final game. its unfortunate, but i think it may be better for the fans if more of the early dev cycle stuff is kept secret, so we don't feel as cheated. i think the material released for ODST has been ample enough to keep me interested in the game and entertained while waiting.
