In Response To: Re: Suggestions on a few multiplayer changes for R (elessar787) : That's not a melee system, that's an encounter-abortion system in principle, the "encounter abortion" system would decrease host advantage. but i still don't like the way it was implemented. i was thinking about the similar scheme that occurs with the swords- the "clash". what if that happened when melee attacks coincided too closely, and both players were damaged a bit and recoiled? i think it would be drastically different, but might be better than both parties dying. another good way to do "encounter abortion" or whatnot would be to have some weapons have melee priority over others. sword > brute shot > AR > BR > SMG > Sniper > Shotgun or something to that effect. if both parties are using the same weapon, you resort to something else, maybe which player had the greater velocity, or which player wasn't in the air. use stuff like that, which the player has control over, to make a non-random system.
