It was a surprise to the Forerunners so it must have been off the beaten track. Why would there be clues to its location in nearby, or even far off, Forerunner systems? It wasn't a center of Forerunner tech, civ, or culture. Would it really be mentioned in the Forerunner Michelin Guides and star maps? : The Covenant Construct: What was the covenant construct Cortana mentions in : High Charity? It was "fighting back" and "unusually : formidable". She specifically says it's a covenant construct. So… : what was it? Maybe she mistook the Oracle for a Covenant construct. Though I'm not sure that it would oppose her. She wouldn't have been expecting a Forerunner AI and the Covies use Forerunner tech. Maybe it was GM and she didn't recognize him at the time. : Last time you asked me: What am I supposed to make of 343GS's speech on Two : betrayals, when he tells the MC (or Cortana as some people think): : "Last time, you asked me, if it was my choice, would I do it? Having : considerable time to ponder your query, my answer has not changed." Still not answered. Maybe Sparky just meant, 'you Forerunner types'. It was a generic you. I suspect that the Halo story has been constantly mutating and you have spotted some indications. Maybe it should be, 'Halo: story evolves...'
