: I also thought that the reason Cortana stayed on High Charity (in Halo 2) was : to trap Gravemind in an attempt to kill him. After finishing Halo 3's : campaign and listening to Cortana's mostly senseless rambling, I've : wondered if Cortana was faking her distress to get the Chief to find as : her fast as possible so the Chief would light the ring and kill Gravemind? : Mere speculation on my part :) Cortana definetly has a very interesting dark, mysterious side. I think she knows more than anybody about the whole, over-all story.
