And that if it was a Covenant AI it was far more impressive : than the ones she had seen in the past. This leaves the door wide open for : the thing in the system to be something other than a Covenant AI. : At this point I would say the thing fighting back was Mendicant Bias. In : Contact Harvest MB tries to take the Keyship to Harvest to make amends to : what he did to the Forerunner but his attempt is stopped. When Truth is : trying to go to Earth MB fights Cortana for control of the ship because MB : still wants to make amends to the Humans, and getting to some place that : the Humans are is the only way to do that. A good point. Cortana seems very confused when she says this line, almost frustrated. And note that the construct eventually beats her by launching the Keyship, although it has been steadily reinforced in every piece of canon thus far that Human AIs are superior to Covenant AIs.
