It was "fighting back" and "unusually : formidable". She specifically says it's a covenant construct. So… : what was it? She assumes its a Covenant construct, however, Contact Harvest and the terminals (particularly the Legendary ones) indicate it may be Mendicant Bias. Cortana says its a Covenant construct, but that doesn't automatically make it one. She's not human, but she is falliable. : Last time you asked me: What am I supposed to make of 343GS's speech on Two : betrayals, when he tells the MC (or Cortana as some people think): : "Last time, you asked me, if it was my choice, would I do it? Having : considerable time to ponder your query, my answer has not changed." Spark considers the descendants of the Forerunners to be aware of and know the same things their forefathers did. I personally interpret this is him speaking to the Forerunner species as a whole, i.e. "The last time you(r species) asked me....."
