I haven't used it much, but one difference is that you've got a rechargeable shield, so the bubble can serve the purpose of letting you recharge it. Apparently the Brutes don't have such shields, in which case there's less rationale for them using a bubble at all, in most cases. Sometimes I've repeatedly moved out and back into the bubble, just long enough to fire off a few shots or lob a grenade; I don't think I've seen Brutes doing that. For now, I stand by my overall impression that they're not too bright about using it. It certainly never concerns me when they deploy one, at any rate. I can just wait for a bit and get ready. It's perhaps more useful to me than them! : But "feature creep"? I guess I don't understand : the difference between that and wishing H3 was a clone of H1 with a : different storyline. I'm sure there are people who feel that way (and you : seem like as good a candidate as any to be one of them), but that's not : what the lion's share of the Halo community wants. New, interesting : innovations in the way we can play this game are excellent, as far as I'm : concerned. Clone of H1 eh? A few words on that. Personally I would've been entirely happy if Bungie had continued on from H1 with practically no changes other than to fix a few bugs and improve on a few shortcomings here and there, and potentially introduce a few additional weapons and vehicles. Obviously with new levels and adventuring. But let's be clear (and this is the key point I want to make), that's not a case of stagnating or creating a 'clone'. It's simply a case of retaining a very good thing in an "if it ain't broke don't fix it" manner. I have little doubt that the series would've continued to be very popular. As popular as H2 and H3 actually were? Maybe less, maybe more as you seem to believe, who knows? If this had happened, doubtless some critics might have complained about "no new innovations" or suchlike. But that sort of criticism is founded on the mistaken and illogical notion that in order to remain good, constant change is needed. Not only is it not needed, it brings the risk of losing the original magic. Maybe some examples of long-running TV series could be relevant here, where they altered stuff and in due course it all got a bit embarassing or 'past its prime' - not that I'm saying the Halo series has become embarassing (and not that I'm an expert in long-running TV series that lost their way, it was just an idea). : We don't *have* to use them, as many have pointed out. But they might still have a strong influence on things, not least in the way the developers might design the gameplay in ways that disadvantage you if you don't use them.
