The : Scarab is a much larger 4 footed monstrosity that can only be defeated by : destroying the power core in the rear end. Yeah I did actually know that, as you probably suspected. I've had this weird thing going on where I picture a Phantom and my brain feeds me the word 'Scarab'. Why? Undoubtedly because it's so darned beetle-shaped! Would I be out of order in suggesting that all copies of Halo 3 be recalled and the game reissued with "Phantom" replaced by "Scarab"? That would help me tremendously. As for Scarabs, we could perhaps simply go with "Giant Steel Bug" for those. Come on, you know it makes sense. : I am still annoyed by the grunt ghosts on solo legendary, on the storm, where : the AA and normal wraith appear. While I can bypass the level without much : frustration, the fact that they usually run up the ramp by the center : building in pairs makes things a bit difficult. There's quite a lot of clutter there though, giving you cover from which to maybe pounce with a plasma grenade. Possibly after immobilizing the Ghost using a plasma pistol. : My biggest frustration, and enjoyment, comes from the room in Crow's nest : where you encounter multiple brute shot captains, carbine wielding brutes, : all backed up by a hammer cheiftain. That's a good meaty skirmish eh? I had some fine fun there when I tried to tackle it with close-range weapons, especially dual-wielded SMGs, rather than my usual use of the battle rifle and carbine (beam rifle is pretty handy too). I replayed that quite a bit. Sometimes when the guy with the funny hat came after me (er, the Chieftain I mean), I jumped through a porthole thingy to evade him. There's one on either side after entering the room; and the one on the right leads to lots of weaponry of course. Fortunately you can jump through from either side. Particularly handy if he's gone invincible. As for the gravity hammer, it might just as well be a bunch of roses for all the danger it poses, as long as you stay calm and keep your distance. It's like the H1 Elites with energy swords. They were never any real threat if you calmly keep your distance. It was the guys with plasma rifles you worried about! That said, I get the feeling that Brutes come at you faster with that thing, which can certainly put the heebie-jeebies into you if you don't get a grip of yourself. Sometimes he never charged, because he was dead. Rapid long-range shooting can often take those guys out pronto, something I'll often try for when I spot one. No need for the heebie-jeebie worries after that. Pre-emptive strike, that's what I recommend. Boy do they look foolish when you shoot that silly hat off. Plus they might drop an invicibility gizmo when they go down.
