| Sierra 117 ruined by snipers | |

In Response To: My views on Halo 3 (Rockslider) Did I really suggest that Sierra 117 was my favourite level? What the heck was I thinking, complimenting it like that? That level is RUINED by Jackals with beam rifles (carbines not quite so bad but still annoying), especially the ones in the very last area. After the cutscene with the Arbiter, it's like it's case of tentatively edging forward to see if you can get a glimpse of one of the snipers without feeling any sudden searing pain; and then after ducking back to safety, sticking your head out again to try and actually get him before he or any other snipers get YOU. It's so awkward and this whole rigmarole completely holds up the flow - and things are potentially all over with one shot of course. Honestly, after my last run on Heroic when I got zapped through the skull yet again, I just turned off the 360 in disgust. Certain choice phrases were uttered and it was just as well no Bungie combat designers were around or I'd have been tempted to give them a jolly good slapping. I'm angry with Bungie for continuing with their misguided inclusion of fun-wrecking enemy snipers (which started in H2 of course). Sure there are other tactics in that final area of Sierra, but anything involving jumping straight down into the fray seems ludicrously risky to me. Still, I'm open to suggestions. Anyone got any particular tactics in regard to clearing the place of snipers, so you can finally get some proper open combat going? But I've got to tell you, if I get zapped through the head much more, I'm going to be in severe danger of lobbing this darned 360 out the window!
