I have never had that : bad of a time against them in halo 3. That's just me though. Not just you. They weren't a problem for me. I generally was only caught by surprise once, then figured out where they were and countersniped. Now I know where they are, and if they kill me, it's because they shot before I steadied my aim. It feels much more fair. My solution, by the way... There's a jungle area in S117 where it's just you and the arbiter, and there are jackals hiding in the trees. Three snipers are on the ground to your immediate left as soon as you enter the area. So, flank left, leave the Arbiter to be a damage sponge. There's a hill JUST blocking the jackal's view, so as long as you don't take an obscene amount of time, you can off those three before they start shooting back. The rest, in that area, are easily found and dispatched. They're practically in the open. If you have doubts, try and convince the Arbiter take point and run ahead. He's a good lure. When you rescue Johnson. There's two in that area. No more. Off to your left. One sits on the roof of the jail building. The other is on the ledge of the warehouse, pacing in front of the glass. You have to be fast here so you don't get shot up by the ground troops. Quickly get a bead on the one pacing along the glass, headshot him. Now you're safe to move out a bit farther and kill the one on the roof. There's one with a carbine on the roof straight across from the cave exit. BR is better than S2AM for him. Conservation of ammo and all that. In addition, there's an extension of the cave off to your immediate left. You're out of cover for all of 2 seconds. Once you're in there, you get a clearer view of the are on the other side of the river. This path also leads down to ground level. If that doesn't help you.... The snipers still kill you in one shot, but they're in the open for the most part, easily found because of that eye-piece, and their reaction time is slower. Scout a bit, die some, learn where people are, formulate the strategy. All things you know already. =P
