If someone sees a Hamas video with Halo gameplay in it, I really have to question that persons sanity if they actually think it means Microsoft is in cahoots with Hamas. That's like associating the creator of a knife with a murder because their product is the murder weapon.

And it is EXACTLY like using a videocamera or paints to create an expression of your own. Microsoft doesn't have a monopoly on ideas. A machinima film showing a war between red guys and blue guys is an idea that Microsoft has no right to have control over. Their only claim should be to restricting the use of character models, artwork, and the like from Halo in other software. Not in the way that character model moved on the screen, or what someone dubbed over a cutscene.

Take it this way: With these rules Microsoft can, at any time, send you a Cease and Desist order if your Halo 3 video happens to feature corpse-humping or trash-talking. That is absurd. They should have no right to this amount of control. These aren't legal protections for us these are legal protections for them.
