As powerful as the 360 is, I feel it would have to be a bit more than -slightly- less detail. As impressive as Dead Rising is on a technical level (large amount of enemies with good LOD) the detail is not in the same league as we see in the trailer. Don't forget that not only do you have to have the characters, you generally need to generate a much larger 3D area, populate it with scenery to make a convincing large space to plan and battle in and finally, one of the bigger killers, AI is going to have to be a lot more advanced than the Zombies in Dead Rising. Its not generating the 200 characters that would be hard, its giving them the full world to fight in and make half of them pretty smart. Of course, the value of LOD's in models shouldn't be underestimated. They are a godsend in RTS if used properly. Especially for infantry units. You would never need anything like that level of detail when zoomed out. Video game design is a lesson in optimisation. If you can't see it, don't draw it.
