Honestly, if the quality of the game is good, I don't think I'd care what they make. This doesn't mean I don't see potential problems in the quality of the game itself. I sure wouldn't want to see the Halo franchise watered down by bad games. Personally, I enjoy Halo, Halo 2, Halo action figures, the Halo novels, and the Halo Graphic Novel. I don't think I would find the addition of a different type of product bad just because it's a different type of product. It might bother me if they had the Chief, Arbiter, or any other main character star in another game. It would put established characters in situations that don't quite fit them. For example, revealing that the Arbiter likes to sit down and play chess in Halo Chessmaster 7 would make me feel differently about his character back in Halo 2. The trailer for Halo Wars doesn't seem to hint at any characters from previous games showing up, though. : There surely is harm in expanding genres within a given medium of
To me, the difference is that I don't think Halo Wars would take away from the experience of any other game. Making a Star Wars comedy would take time and effort away from filming a Star Wars action movie. If I could only have Halo Wars or Halo 3, I would definitely want them to make Halo 3 instead. But since Bungie isn't putting a lot of resources into Halo Wars, we can have both at the same time. Just to be clear, I'm not arguing, because there's no way I can actually argue about what you like. I'm only stating what I like. There's nothing but friendliness behind my words. | |
