In Response To: Back up a second... (Hawaiian Pig) I have never been a fan of RTS games, i prefer FPS's, i like to be the guy calling the shots and making the moves, i tried playing homeworlds or what ever game that was with the space fighting, and i hated it. I sent my ships into battle and they all blew up, i think i might have taken one enemy ship down, heh, sounds like the UNSC fighting the covenant there. But that one moment made me throw the game out and totally hate those types of games. Not fun at all. I don't want to just be the guy watching from the sky telling the men where to go and what to do, only to have them fail anyway, when playing as one of them myself, in an FPS mode i would have accomplished the mission. That's what is so great about halo, you are the Master Chief, you get to work on your own mostly, but when you are with the marines, you give them orders, albeit via Cortana, but they do what you say, and are normally a help, i stress normally. My ideal RTS version of a game, would be to be able to send seperate groups of soldiers into simultaneous battles, and when one of them starts to look like they are doing bad, be able to switch to a temporary FPS mode and take over one of the men and help get them back into winning shape. Then switch back to overview to see how the others are fairing and jump in and out where ever i need the extra help at. To me that would be the neatest game type ever, a full cross of FPS & RTS, heck maybe we'll get lucky and that's what they have instore for us???? | |
