In Response To: Move up a second.... (dolbex) RTS's can *definitely tell stories (see Cody's response, I don't need to repeat it). And I also agree with Dolbex's sentiments. It boils down to the fact that Microsoft has learned one major thing when dealing with the Halo franchise: IT MAKES MONEY. They aren't going to stop until they've made all they can. That's a good thing if you want lots of Halo and don't care about the source (and possibly quality). But, yeah, for most of us, that's not such a hot prospect. Personally, I think a Halo RTS could be a lot of fun. As much fun as the Halo FPS? I think so...just in a different way. They're two totally different entities and play experiences, but both can most certainly advance plot. I figure the RTS would probably start off something like "UNSC and Covenant meet, they fight, they each discover some Forerunner artifact and fight some more..." Sound simple right? Well, it doesn't really have to be. There can be lots of plot points added that are related to the later games. Will I buy these new games? It'll depend. For me, the main selling point of Halo has been the story. I *love* the Halo universe, the twists and turns, and the overall attitude. The characters are entertaining and well-rounded. I remember playing through Halo for the first time. The action was outstanding but I also was constantly thinking "I wonder what's going to happen next?" My play style was very story-driven. I am simply going to reserve judgment. I love speculation when it comes to the story of Halo, but at this point I don't even care to get heated up about the whole thing. It's sad to see Bungie having a reduced role in the Halo universe (and that's what all this sounds like) but if they backed out to do other things, I respect that...and I really really look forward to those "other things." I'd rather have them developing something they *want* to work on, then more Halo games churned out en masse by a company whose heart isn't really in it.
