By a significant chunk. I pointed out rets' 10 assists in the postgame, and he said "yeah, you got 'em all". :) You can look at this as proof that Halo 2 is broken (since I'm right in there in the thick of things with folks who are easily twice as good as I am, if not better)... or you can say "wow, he did a good job of staying out of trouble, keeping close to backup, and generally being aware of his surroundings... Halo 2 is more of a team game than Halo was." Your choice.
