Tho I was a regular here first- registered here early in 2003, and have been a AVID halo fan for quite some time. You may or may not remember me (likely not), I made front page on a song I did a year or 2 ago, but do you really believe that a game in which a lesser skilled player can win is not broken? I also find it quite interesting that EXTREMELY well respected members of the community like Overswarm and Walka agree with the article 100%, and yet you seem to not concede any of the points except the 'Combo' argument... Halo 2 is broken, it alienated countless exceptional Halo CE players. The article is correct. You seem to insinuate Halo CE was created to be a competitive game, as you DID mention that Halo 2 wasn't (in comparison?). Halo was not created to be competitive, it's just that it was so good it became a tournament game. If anything, it would be more logical for H2 to be created for competition- they created Live and a ranking system for gods sake. I don't mean to insult anyone, I really don't but this is what I have found to be true, without exception so far: If you were good enough at Halo CE Multiplayer to get to the point where you were timing and had a really good pistol, then you prefer Halo 1's MP and generally agree with this articles points. Only the individuals who never got that good prefer Halo 2, because it's fun to beat someone who is better than you. | |
