Tartarus and (probably) Mercy are dead, Regret is assilimated into the Gravemind, Truth is en route to Earth. Their leadership is absent. Will Cortana consider them a threat enough to take action? And how much power does she really have over the Gravemind? It's been stated that she's not afraid of it, and I agree. But will it really allow her to "reprogram" the Flood? Might she become like Regret, assilimated into the Gravemind, but with no real power? This would give the Flood the coordinates to Earth. What if H3 begins like H2, except with the Flood attacking instead of the Covenant? Here's my theory:
This depends on several things. For example, if the Forerunner ship has a Death Star-style superlaser, this would change things a bit. This also assumes that Cortana is a helpless prisoner and the Gravemind will attack Earth. I am open to criticism. Feel free to shoot any holes necessary, and thanks for reading this long post
