In Response To: Halo 2 Matchmaking: Setting a precedent (nof) This origional post was one of the most beautifully structured and well thought out I have seen in a forum for quite some time. While I agree that I have been a part of this effect to a certain degree, I don't believe that I have fallen to the extreme described therein. I do however believe that this is a time that is golden for an age of the custom game. Though the custom game may be most appropriate for a return, I believe that it may be best served chilled. Custom games have from what I have seen been largly experimental, but now I believe is a prime opportunity for classic custom games. Games that fit with the snugness and style of matchmaking, but are comfortable and loose like that of the sweatpants. I believe that now is a time that is great for classic CTF and Team Slayer with possibly slight variations to return to custom games and replace the now ridiculous looking experimental extremes of the beggining times. While games such as Dawn of the Dead and Rainbow Rules have been fun, and games with overshields, active camo, no radar, rockets and swords have been tried, along with it's swords on coagulation, this time of trial and error should soon reach balance. How many other people out there realize their blood pressure rising when beggining a matchmaking game? Now may be a good time to invite the casual game into Halo 2. If there is anyone out there that would like to play a matchmaking style game (with possibly the battle rifle to replace the SMG as spawn weapon) They may send me a friend request to my gamertag of XvArchonvX. |
