In Response To: I agree. Who's for invisible ranking? *NM* (17) There is a very obvious flaw with an invisible ranking system. Picture this scenario: You've played five hundred games of team slayer. You're really good, and you know what you're doing. You feel like you're improving all the time. Suddenly you start losing all the time. Your opponents cream you, and you're not really sure why. It could be that your invisible rank has peaked, or it could be that you're slipping. There's really no way to tell since you have no rank to tell you that you're fighting harder opponents. In short, there is no motivation to improve yourself since it will only result in more losing. A visible rank may not be much, but at least it is a small reward that lets you know that you're getting better. | |
