The ranking system was designed to last a very long time; Bungie didn't want people to quickly rise to the cap, realize there was nowhere further to go, get bored, and move on. As the FAQ explains, most people are expected to have ranks between 10 and 20- the low end of the range in which ranking is a zero-sum game and on average a loss costs exactly as much as a win. Moving up requires you to consistently win more than 50% of the time, which is really not easy to pull off (especially in team games where so much depends on the other players). I can definitely see where nof is coming from- XBL can be frustrating when you're playing with people who take the game way too seriously. Just try to remember that your rank is an essentially meaningless number. It is not your self-worth, it is not your penis size, it is not your honor, it is not how cool you are- it is a label placed on you by a computer to assist its decision-making process. |
