In Response To: Halo 2 Matchmaking: Setting a precedent (nof) It is inevitable, human nature is that of winning, and while many of us might show great sportsmanship on the outside, inside we all crave to win. Personally, I like to win, but only if I have earn't it. Whether it be a great preformance by myself, or great teamwork towards a win, I enjoy it. But if I'm put into a matchmaking game with what is obviously a large party sided with me, I find it less enjoyable. The trends you mentioned are quite obvious. The scary thing is that these trends are starting to move into the training gamelists. I mean even today a new way to cheat was discovered, where a player can gain huge speed infinatly. Personally, I think the solution is time. Rank will soon be of unimportance to many of the casual winners as you so eligantly put it. They will probably be distracted by some other big game that comes out, probably mech assult 2, and concentrate on that. That is unless something changes to reinterest these people while they are still playing. It is my hope that bungie will hold off on the downloadable content, for at least a month or so to allow this process of distraction to complete. Until then, custom games seem to be the best way to have fun whether its with a group of fun guys or a clan.
