In Response To: Halo 2 Matchmaking: Setting a precedent (nof) I remember the good ol days. When we though that halo 2 would be some sort of super game, with tanks as far as the eye could see. A game where we would somehow be able to never lose because, "without that cheesy pistol, how would anyone beat us?" Yeah, i remember, when getting the leak was considered heresey, and regulars were banned. Nope, were not gonna forget what led up to the euphoria that was halo 2. Instead what we recieved was a great game. Not some sort of answer to the prayers of halo lunatics and pistol whores. Now I think back to the days before halo 2. When i wouldnt go to players for the sole purpose of raising my rank. when getting together for a lan was considered a divine ritual. A way to have a helluvalotta fun with a bunch of your friends. I find myself playing a lot of team training these days, in fear of stand bys, dummy cheating, angry 12 year olds who scream profanity into mics like its common language and leet players who have no remorse. I like winning, i dont think thats gonna change, but when i hit that glass cieling, i dont know if im gonna recover any time soon. The fact of the matter is that we have lost something inportant. I think we all know what that is... |
