I don't get that. It seems that if you lose, it's because you are playing against people who are better than you are. Either they're working their way up, or you've been mismatched. Either way, if you're losing, I can't think of a better motivation to keep trying. Some people would say it's a bigger slam to the confidence to drop a rank than it is to just lose a few times. If you couldn't see it, you wouldn't worry about it, and you'd focus on enjoying the game. I'm not saying to do away with stats completely, just to make rank invisible. And maybe not even completely invisible, but just in-game. You could still go look it up, but you'd have to do it on the computer after your game. I don't know. Seems the focus on rank IS sucking the fun out for a lot of people. Even for me, if I'm not careful... | |
