In Response To: Re: I'm getting worried *Small HGN Spoilers* (Dark One)
: Well, I think it's because people expected more out of it. If anything
: Bungie's suffering from high expectations more than anything else. People
: shouldn't expect the HGN to be a benchmark of graphic novels or in any way
: revolutionary. Similarly, one shouldn't read Quarantine and expect some
: groundbreaking work of art or a complete upheaval of the storyline. It was
: short, beautiful, and provided some bit of thrill. At the same time it
: served the purpose of showing that Sgt Johnson didn't just wake up
: uninfected and walk away.
People certainly expected more out of it, but shouldn't they? People have high expectations from bungie because of Halo and Halo 2- Both extremely fun, revolutionary games. Breaking Quarantine did feature stunning visuals, but should have covered the trip down there, established Johnson's relationship with the Marines under his command, the fear and panic created by the hordes of flood, and some obstacle in Johnson's way- perhaps a room swarming with combat forms between him and the exit.
