In Response To: I'm getting worried *Small HGN Spoilers* (Cody Miller) Spoilers ahead- I would advise that you don't read this if you haven't read the HGN yet. Here's what I thought: Last Voyage did everything I expected and more. Armor Testing was certainly second best. It was a direct tie-in to the game, just as promised, and I don't see what the problem is with her retiring to start a family: After all, she didn't fully retire (she's still in the reserves) and with humanity on the brink of extinction, I would think that a family would provide more hope than a soldier. Breaking Quarantine had, in my opinion, the best artwork (detail-wise) of all the stories, but it was short and didn't say much. It certainly didn't reveal the secret of Johnson's escape. Second Sunrise was my least favorite, not because it was bad, but because it wasn't what I had expected (I was expecting a story depicting human resistance in the form of minute men and angry mobs). It also didn't say much as far as why the Covenant only landed in that one spot (like it said it would on the first page), aside from a few short lines. The best part of the HGN, story-wise, was Robert McLees' Gallery piece, which may or may not be canon. |
