Nah, he had already survived three battles with the Covenant, so certain death is a little bit extreme. Now, certain misery, I think that's more what Cortana was looking for. ;-) : The fact that Cortana was capable of revenge at all is very scary. The whole idea of a "smart" AI is that it is a kind of second-generation human brain, though, so emotions like revenge should be expected. Scary, maybe, that revenge or some other volatile emotions might not be excised from the matrix somehow, to ensure a greater stability, but that might "dilute" the ability of the AI to make the kinds of connections our bizarre brains make. Besides, that guy really deserved it. I mean, come on. A Scorpion missile? What a jerk. ;-) : One more thought - Cortana decides that nothing is going to happen to John at
