Don't even get me started on the : atrocities seen on page 99 of that book. :( Yeah - their approach is basically "We didn't like the original so we made a better one" ("better" obviously being subjective, thus rendering the redesigns wholly pointless). The whole visual side of Halo 4 seems to have been a huge vanity project for the artists rather than a genuine attempt to take the universe forward, which isn't the way it should be.
