In Response To: Why recycle environments for multiplayer? (jazo) Ever since this was mentioned alongside previous mentions of interesting multiplayer features that have required instructions during play tests, I have believed that AI co-op/multiplayer will become more involved. I'm imagining that instead of just score based firefight, that maybe bungie will be adding objective based firefight, using all of the environment tagging and pathing for the AI that they already did for campaign. I mean think about it, when they talked about the development of firefight, one of the main impetuses was the scary nature of online play deterring more casual players from pouring their time into it. Imagine what it'll be like if 3 friends can get together and play split screen one flag against a medium sized covenant squad. Additionally, established AI content need not only be used for covenant. Imagine 4 on 4 CTF games with 3 marines added to the mix. There are a huge amount of possibilities for what will be featured in multiplayer due to this decision. I for one am extremely excited; I'm also desperately trying to stay realistic. Lastly, yeah, I imagine there's a solid point to be made about the efficiency of re-using work put into content generation.
