In Response To: Re: It's a death by a thousand cuts (Louis Wu) : It didn't suck. You didn't like it. Those are different. I'd argue that the majority of people didn't like it because they thought it sucked as well, which is why we never saw it again, but yeah, you're right. : It wasn't garbage, and they didn't spend a huge amount of resources they
Not so sure about that. It was pretty awful (my opinion), just like a lot of other content on the internet. : And the debacle, as you call it, had plenty of blame to go around - it wasn't
I'm more willing to give Bungie the beneift of the doubt under the circumstances made available to the public than Microsoft. : I'm a Bungie fan - but my eyes are open enough to realize that they make
I've had plenty of my own issues with Bungie, plenty misguided, plenty legitimate, and almost all voiced at HBO. That doesn't change the fact that Microsoft hasn't exactly been the most exciting prospect of a publisher over the years that, beyond Bungie, has had negative impacts on other game studios as well (the same argument can be made about Activision, EA, etc). I like the idea of an independent Bungie with Activision pretty much letting them call the shots on what they release and letting them own their content. 343 Industries can't say the same. Couple that with how "new" they are and how almost everything that's been released has been "outsourced" to other companies, their reputation at the moment is going to be based on said outsourced successes and failures like Halo Legends, Apt. 117, or even H1A.
