In Response To: Re: Can we agree? (Miguel Chavez) : Oh come on. Are you saying the switching between classic and anniversary : graphics is *required* for proper gameplay? It was a little bell/whistle : they added for us to enjoy. To now harp about it as it doesn't function : smoothly for those 2-3 seconds? I can't believe this is even part of the : discussion. I mean, if folks are looking to argue 343i's performance, I : would never in a million years use the back-button mechanics as part of my : checklist. That's just nuts! How is it just nuts? It's a significant aesthetic point. There's a reason that editors in the film industry put effort into deciding when to fade, when to cut directly, when to black out, and when to star wipe. In terms of the feel you get from it, there is a huge difference between, say, the white fade at the end of the Maw Run and the sudden black cut at the end of the Covenant (and both are used extremely well; swap them, and you'd have weirdnesses). The fact that it's only a few seconds long is completely irrelevant. Would I make a huge deal out of the choice of transition and/or say it's game breaking? No. But transitions are important, and I would definitely argue that the graphics swap could be better.
